Small Series Vane-Style Flowmeter (SX)

UFM’s small series vane-style variable area flowmeters (SX model) operate with a spring biased semi-circular vane that opens wider with more flow. They are installed in-line in any position. Straight pipe run before or after the meter is not required. The simple mechanical connection directly drives pointers, switches and transmitters.

These SX flowmeters have plastic bodies, a wide variety of metal internals, and fittings. They are ideally suited to monitor flows of such fluids as corrosive liquids, seawater, deionized water, acids, caustics, and plating solutions.

The SX flowmeters use the vane style variable area technology to measure the flow of liquids and have the following characteristics and/or options:

Maximum flow rates from 0.5 – 20 GPM (2 – 75 LPM)
Pressure ratings 0 to 300 PSI (20 BAR) for SN, 500 PSI (34 BAR) for SM and 2000 PSI (137 BAR) for SH
Maximum fluid temperature of 200˚F (95˚C)
High temperature option of 400°F for A & R Box, 300°F for transmitter
Accuracy: 5% full scale
Repeatability: 1% of actual flow
Standard outputs: mechanical switch, visual pointer and scale, 4-20 mA
Optional outputs: IS transmitter, explosion proof switches
Materials of construction available include brass, 316 SS, aluminum, etc.
Applications supported: water, lubrication oil, corrosives, brine and general
CSA Certified NRTL/C
CE Marked (as noted)
NIST Traceable Calibration Certificate available.

Standard Transmitter

Standard 2 wire, loop-powered 4-20 mA DC analog signal flow rate transmitter. 10 to 30 VDC, 25 mA input.

HART Transmitter

The Highway Addressable Remote Transducer protocol is a digital industrial automation protocol that can communicate over legacy 4-20 mA analog instrumentation wiring and is known by its acronym HART. Due to the huge installed base of 4-20 mA systems throughout the world, the HART protocol is one of the most popular industrial protocols today and is now available in all UFM variable area products

"A", "L" and "Z" Boxes

Control A, L, and Z Box"A" box is selected for price and simplicity. It holds switches (general purpose and hermetically sealed) or 4-20mA transmitter. You get this control box when you order any CONTROL BOX & READOUT starting with an "A". This control box is made of Polysulfone (standard low cost "A") with options for aluminum ("L") or 316 stainless steel ("Z").

"R" Box

Control R Box"R" box is selected for greater resolution (more increments on the inscribed scale). It holds switches (general purpose and hazardous location all classes groups and divisions) and 4-20mA transmitter. Switch (standard service) and transmitter are offered in this control box together when signal redundancy is desired. You get this control box when you order any CONTROL BOX & READOUT starting with an "R". This control box is made from epoxy coated aluminum.

"T" Box

Control T Box"T" box is selected for availability of two isolated junction boxes with terminal strips. This means that no direct wiring to switches or transmitters is required. Digital LCD display of flow is optional ("TXL"). It holds switches (general purpose) and 4-20mA transmitter. Switch (standard service) and transmitter are offered in this control box together when signal redundancy is desired. These are wired to separate junction boxes for signal isolation. You get this control box when you order any CONTROL BOX & READOUT starting with a "T". This control box is made from epoxy coated aluminum.
